Not only does Old-Aylmer have a rich history, with the lumber and the tourism industry, but it also has some many great shops, restaurants, and an amazing microbrewery. During this weekly night tour, you will be able to visit some of the regions most important historical buildings. From the Auberge Symmes which dates back to the 1830', to the British Hotel which is the oldest still running hotel west of Montreal and home to so much mystery, you will be able to discover Aylmer's past. Learn Aylmer's major fire that destroyed over 125 homes and left more than 700 locals without a home. Learn about the haunting of the Auberge Symmes. And why not, learn about Canada's first political assassination.
But what about the food? During this tour, you will be able to visit 5 different food and drink locations. At each location, you will be served either a meal or a drink, sometimes even both! After many years of giving this tour, we can ensure you will be nice and full afterwards. From a delicious smoked meat poutine, to a fine dinning meal, an artisan chocolate tasting, a sausage tasting, and a craft beer tasting, you are sure to treat your taste buds.
